We've moved!

In March 2022, we acquired the http://fauna.club domain and set up our new website on Wordpress. We've left this blogger site public for sh*ts and giggles because (although one of the latest posts about us closing down is not at all professional *chides her old, younger self*) it's really fun to be able to look back on the few of Fauna's documented events here, the good times as well as the bad.. growing pains, right?

Years have passed and Fauna's community has grown even though our focus has broadened out beyond being "just a club."

So, please join us at http://fauna.club for all future news about our region, our residents, our sponsors, and our community as a whole in Second Life.

Indefinitely? Definitely Not.

Fauna is reopening Soon™. No estimated date yet because I'm slowly but surely working out all the details for a smooth and lasting re-re-re-reopening. Long-story short: Nuku and I bought a brand new Full Region on December 5, 2020 and I've been slowly establishing a theme and getting together all of the amenities I'd like to offer guests and potential residents. ♥

Fauna is CLOSING Indefinitely!

Reasons why we're closing:

• There was only ever ONE staff member other than ME who gave a rats ass about the success of the club (which was Bree for anyone wondering. I wasn't gonna name names, but I give up at this point.) Two people can't keep the club alive.
• EDIT: Rin had offered to help but by the time I hired him on, it was already too late for me personally to put in the effort to train a new manager.
• Guests would only ever come to hang out for free money and the place was just plain dead any other time.
• I can't personally be there to run every contest and there was no interest from the general public about hosting.
• When I was going to implement and begin to enforce a "dress code" (no human avatars) people lost their shit and I'm just done with people who weren't even regular guests bitching about the rules.
• Personal gain: I can save myself  $42 USD by just dropping that parcel so, it's just in my best personal interest to let it die.
• No one else wants to foot the bill unless I am still running the place. I've received offers from very generous people already that want to pay for the club parcel but only on the condition that I would still run it and.... No, I'm just done.

Call me crazy, tired, lazy, whatever you like, but Fauna is done. Thanks for enjoying the place while it was alive.

Fauna Residential Will Be Closing

Fauna Residential End Date: MONDAY, JUNE 5

As of now, we have 2 weeks left of rent for the Residential parcel at Fauna and we don't have enough tenants to support the additional cost any longer. In 2 weeks (ON MONDAY, JUNE 5TH), we will be cutting off the residential area. Any rent you have paid OVER 2 weeks on your home as of now, I will refund. And please pick up all of your important possessions before then! I will send out more personal reminders closer to the date.

This change won't have any negative impact on the club, rather the opposite. (I'd rather give up the residential area than attempt to scrape by and let the club contests and sploder fun suffer for it due to lack of funds.)

Upgrades: EXPERIENCE TELEPORTERS!

I've been a busy bee this past week! We've added a new parcel in Lost Forest for home rentals. There are only 13 homes available and 3 of them are already occupied! O_O I'll have to take screenshots of the residential area for the next blog update. But this post is to showcase something I've wanted to do for a LONG time with SL experiences....

We have Experience Teleporters now!! What that means is: all you have to do to TP around the sim is walk into the portals! (Or just touching them works too.) The first time you walk into one of these (or touch), you will get a popup asking you to allow the experience called "Teleport Experience". Once you allow this, you won't ever be asked again and use of all the teleporters at Fauna will be as seamless as possible! I am excite. This .gif is O K, but you'll have to see the portals in-world to get a better look at the really cool animation and particle effects. 😎

Stage & DJ Booth Redesign!

I am one happy pony/furry right now because I've finally accomplished something I've wanted to do for the club ever since we decided Fauna was going to be a furry and pony friendly place! The stage has been redesigned to not only feel more open to the dance floor, but Fauna staff members now have the option to click the stage and Show/Hide the DJ Booth entirely. And even cooler yet for our DJs who like to wear the EP avatar, there's an option for them to lower the DJ Booth to Pony height! 😊

Fauna Mini-Market Rentals

This week, we sent out early bird invites to over 30 furry/pony store owners inviting them to rent at our mini-market area. (I was ambitious and even sent invites to Ambix and Static LOL *wishful thinking*). But on Friday, March 31, the rest of the mini-market stalls will be available for rent to anyone! (Well, almost anyone based on certain rules and requirements.) So, if you're a store owner/creator or know anyone interested in renting a stall, keep your eyes peeled for those blue reserved signs to switch to Available! And you cant really see me in the picture that well, but the purple spec of a pony way, way in the background of the image is standing at the parcel landing point in case you're curious where all our club patrons pop in!

You can click on a rental meter and select "Info" to grab the very thorough notecard, but here's a short snippet of info from it for your consideration before renting a stall at Fauna Market:

Our market's target customer base is mostly comprised of quadrupedal ponies and bipedal ponies & furries that are interested in mods, clothing, and accessories for the following avatars: UTILIZATOR Kemono, A.A. Bimbo Lady, Equestria's Pride pony avatar, N.E.I.G.H. pony avatar (available in-world only in Pony Town), and various furry avatars.

Tenants must meet the following requirements to rent a stall at Fauna:
• Your products must cater to ponies and/or furries.
• You must have at least 5 items available for sale in world or listed on the SL Marketplace. 

 And here are the deets you're probably most interested in:

LI/Prim Limit: 15 

Price per week: L$20

Maximum Rental Period: Up to 4 weeks *

OVERDUE Grace Period: 120 hours (5 days) **

* Rentals can be payed up to the maximum of 4 weeks. (Any amount overpaid to the meter is automatically refunded.) 

** Tenants will be auto-evicted and all objects will be returned immediately when the Grace Period expires.

If you teleport over there, you'll notice we have a brand new, very modest, and pretty empty mini-market. I'm not gonna lie: I'm going to be really picky about who gets a shop on the Fauna parcel, so all of the stalls are reserved until I get in contact with some of my personal favorite merchants. 😋

And I know how much you all love some sim drama... and I'm sorry to let you all down but there's no drama here. 😆 Lewd Cartoon Horse Community was and still is good to us, but we needed some extra space to stretch our legs a bit more than Lewd could give us. Hopefully we can carry on the momentum we've got and really grow into a regular hangout spot for some folks!

And the last thing I'll mention in this update is that we now have a Discord channel! Join us for DJ event and contest announcements, market updates, and the really important stuff like gossip and general lewdness!
